Slice-Uptown

Last Saturday, I stop by Whole Foods to pick a couple of things. While I was out, I decided to picked up dinner. I stop off Slice, which right next to Whole Foods. I ordered was the Spinach Chicken slice. It was pretty good but nothing to write home about. I also ordered the mac n cheese is more like alfredo sauce with penne and broccoli. It wasn't bad just not what I thought I ordered. The service was bad. My waiter only came to my table to take my order and give me the check. He didn't give me a refill or ask if everything was fine. He didn't even try to up sell. Needless say there are a lot really good pizza joints in New Orleans to come back to Slice.

Joey K's

Last Tuesday while out on Magazine, I got a serious craving for traditional home cooked meal. Sometimes, I just want comfort food, nothing fancy or classy. But food that begin back to a wonderful memory from childhood. So, I stopped into several restaurants searching through the menus looking for the perfect comfort foods and final found Joey K's Restaurant and Bar. It's small restaurant on the corner of Magazine and Seventh. It's one of those New Orleans traditional "hole in the walls" but that's one many beautiful things about this city.

I ordered stewed chicken with green beans and mashed potatoes, it was one of the specials that day. It was not fine dining but that's exactly want I wanted. It was delicious. That perfect mix between of southern soul food and Louisiana seasoning, I grow up with. This is a great local find for a affordable price.

Pinkberry-Uptown

I am trying to add more healthy items in my life. I wouldn't say I eat poorly but I don't eat the most healthy. One thing I'm gaining a huge obsession with is Greek yogurt. I recently visited Pinkberry, after a workout which is something else I'm trying to add into my lifestyle. But anyway, Pinkberry has these Greek yogurt bowls. I got the strawberry mango. It came with strawberry and mango, of course but it also had coconut, almonds, and strawberry syrup. It was absolutely delicious. The young lady that work there was unexpectedly nice too. She made sure that I knew that Greek yogurt is fresh and not frozen. She also made sure to say goodbye and asked about my day.
