This was a great find! The food was great the prices are amazing. They also give complementary cheese and chip. I ordered the Shrimp and Fish Tacos with tomatoes, sour cream and guacamole. The shrimp and cod were seasoned well and very fish. It was also 2 for 1 Margaritas night, so, I order mango margarita which was delicious. I only paid about $12 bucks
.
Quick look at the places I've visited, the things I've made and things I've brought. With a short review of how I enjoyed the experience.

Slice-Uptown
Last Saturday, I stop by Whole Foods to pick a couple of things. While I was out, I decided to picked up dinner. I stop off Slice, which right next to Whole Foods. I ordered was the Spinach Chicken slice. It was pretty good but nothing to write home about. I also ordered the mac n cheese is more like alfredo sauce with penne and broccoli. It wasn't bad just not what I thought I ordered. The service was bad. My waiter only came to my table to take my order and give me the check. He didn't give me a refill or ask if everything was fine. He didn't even try to up sell. Needless say there are a lot really good pizza joints in New Orleans to come back to Slice.

Joey K's
Last Tuesday while out on Magazine, I got a serious craving for traditional home cooked meal. Sometimes, I just want comfort food, nothing fancy or classy. But food that begin back to a wonderful memory from childhood. So, I stopped into several restaurants searching through the menus looking for the perfect comfort foods and final found Joey K's Restaurant and Bar. It's small restaurant on the corner of Magazine and Seventh. It's one of those New Orleans traditional "hole in the walls" but that's one many beautiful things about this city.
I ordered stewed chicken with green beans and mashed potatoes, it was one of the specials that day. It was not fine dining but that's exactly want I wanted. It was delicious. That perfect mix between of southern soul food and Louisiana seasoning, I grow up with. This is a great local find for a affordable price.

The Move
I've recently moved to New Orleans. Yes, I moved to party capital of the world, the only place where there is a convention, event or festival everyday. I love the culture here. This city is filled with life and people are so diverse. I love everything from the emerging "Green" culture to the 24 hour daiquiri shops. But the streets and the park has to be the worst. My friends make fun of the roads here. It's the only where you drive 25 mph everywhere, not by choice. It's probably the only place where it takes you longer to find a parking space than it take to drive to the place. But is also coming from a girl who has lived in the country for the last four years, so needless to say it's a complete culture change.
I moved to New Orleans because I got a job here in the emerging "Green" industry. Being environmentally aware and having sustainable lifestyle is important to me. It's something I find is easy to incorporate into my daily life, whether its change light bulbs, recycling, or buy locally. I'm also lover small business. It's something about knowing exactly who and where your money and support is going. I find most small business quality is far more superior than chain places.
Til my next break...
